The Portugieser Automatic 42 “Horizon Blue” represents the biggest design update to the collection in a decade. While retaining the classic railway track and Arabic numerals, the entire architecture has been refined. The new “Glassbox” crystal eliminates the bezel visually, bringing the light flooding into the dial for an unprecedented level of clarity and depth.

Design & Craftsmanship

Horizon Blue Dial:
The new signature color is a light, ethereal blue inspired by the early afternoon sky. It is intricately finished with 15 layers of transparent lacquer, then fine-ground and polished to a high gloss. The result is a dial that feels liquid and alive, contrasting beautifully with the rhodium-plated hands.

Glassbox Construction:
The defining feature of the 2024 generation is the double box-glass sapphire crystals on both the front and back. This vintage-inspired dome shape allows the case ring to be thinner, making the watch sit lighter and more elegantly on the wrist compared to previous models.

Symmetrical Perfection:
The layout remains the gold standard of balance. The power reserve display at 3 o’clock and the small seconds at 9 o’clock are perfectly aligned. The “azurage” (circular graining) on the sub-dials adds a technical texture that contrasts with the glossy lacquer of the main dial.
