“The Illusion of Time.”
The Portugieser Tourbillon Mystère Rétrograde is a theatrical performance on the wrist. It combines the kinetic beauty of a tourbillon with the mechanical ingenuity of a retrograde date. Crafted from solid platinum, this watch is reserved for the true connoisseur who appreciates the highest level of watchmaking art.
Design & Craftsmanship
The “Mystery” Tourbillon:
Dominating the 12 o’clock position is the flying tourbillon. It is called “Mystère” because it is mounted only from one side, creating the optical illusion that the cage is floating freely against the black background. The cage rotates once per minute, counteracting the effects of gravity on the escapement.
Retrograde Date:
Located between 6 and 9 o’clock is the retrograde date arc. Unlike a standard circular date wheel, the hand travels along an arc from the 1st to the 31st. At the end of the month, the hand instantly snaps back to the 1st position—a blink-and-you-miss-it mechanical feat.
Platinum Architecture:
The 44.2mm case is machined from solid Platinum 950. The cool, white luster of the precious metal pairs perfectly with the silver-plated dial and rhodium hands. It gives the watch a substantial weight that serves as a constant reminder of its value and complexity.

On The Wrist
This is a watch that stops conversations. The tourbillon is constantly in motion, catching the eye from across the room. The large 44mm size ensures the complex dial remains legible, while the curved lugs help the heavy platinum case sit securely on the wrist. It is the pinnacle of mechanical luxury.
